

Donald “Donnie” Petrey, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Providence Medical Center. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the funeral home. The family requests contributions to American Cancer Society or The Humane Society.
Donnie was born July 18, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Howard Jennings Petrey, Sr. and Minerva Petrey. He graduated from Turner High School in 1962. Donnie was an over-the-road trucker and Street Division Manager for the Kansas City, Kansas Unified Government for 29 years. He was a member of Teamster’s Local 41. Donnie was an extremely talented man who was known as a “Jack of All Trades and a Master of All.”
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Jennings Petrey, Sr. and Minerva Petrey as well as his grandson Jeffrey G. Petrey, daughter-in-law Tessa Petrey and brother Howard J. Petrey, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Connie Petrey, son Martin Petrey, daughter Dana L. Stephens and partner De Linda Belanger, son-in-law Gregory Stephens; grandchildren, Jonathan C. Petrey, Laressa Raley, Taylor Trapp and Emily Tate Stephens; great grandchildren, Brody L. Petrey and Alexis N. Petrey; two brothers, Robert Petrey and Jackie Petrey, as well as many friends.
