

Donald Lee Wright, 82, passed away peacefully with his son by his side on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at NorthCare Hospice in North Kansas City, Missouri. Services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King, 3027 N. 54th St., KCK with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 38th & State Ave., KCK. Family will receive friends on December 6, 2012 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Christ the King. A reception will follow the burial at Christ the King.
Don was born on March 6, 1930, in Blairstown, Missouri, to Nathaniel and Letha (Alderson) Wright. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1949. Don served as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War. He worked in residential and commercial construction his entire life, and spent over 20 years with Fogel Anderson Construction Company. Don was long time member of Christ the King Church where he served as an usher for 18 years.
Don was an avid KU and Nascar fan. He enjoyed attending the games and races with his family. Don also enjoyed meeting his friends at the casino and Saturday night Polka dances. He was a member of the Don Lipovac Booster Club and a long time member of the Carpenters Union.
Don was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his son Dave (Shannon) Wright; two granddaughters, Sydney Wright and Madisson Wright; sister, Doris Fagg; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; Nathaniel Wright, his mother; Letha Wright, and his beloved wife of 43 years, Dolores Wright.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ the King Church, American Cancer Society, NorthCare Hospice, or your local Hospice facility.
