

Eugene T. Thulin, 78, passed away July 19, 2013 at home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23rd at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Eugene was born December 17, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas to Theodore and Emma Thulin. Gene graduated from Wyandotte High School and worked for Hallmark while there. He married the love of his life, Joyce Bond in 1953 and they shared 60 wonderful years. He worked for the railroad for a short time and then moved to the Board of Public Utilities for ten years. Gene retired after twenty years as an electrician for TWA. Fitness was very important to him, and he lifted weights and assisted with youth sports programs for softball, basketball and volleyball. Gene was a member of Oakland Park Baptist church for many years, and recently has been a member of the First Baptist Church of McLouth.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Emma Thulin. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Thulin; his son Ted Thulin and his wife Roxanne; his daughters, Jolene Holwick and her husband James, Dorlene Williams and her husband Samuel, Terry Ann Snyder and her husband Charles Andrew; sixteen grandchildren, Tara Jo, Monisha, Amy, Alison, Becky, Samuel, Andrew, Raquel, Jim, Angie, Daniel, Devin, Faith, Amanda, Madison and Averill; as well as twenty-six great-grandchildren and many friends.
