

George “Bud” Lumley, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri passed away at the age of 77 on November 12, 2012 at North Kansas City Hospital. He was born November 11, 1935 in KCK to George and Mina Lumley. He was married for 55 years to his wife Loydena. Bud joined the United States Marine Corps and later worked for the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department from November 16, 1957 until he retired on January 2, 1987 as the Operations Chief. Bud enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his wife Loydena, sister Linda Pendleton; children George Lumley, III, Terry Imperiale and her husband Patrick, Richard Lumley and his wife Valerie, and Judy Lumley and her spouse Sue Mechanic; grandchildren John Lumley and his wife Tiffany, Richie Lumley and his wife Tessa, Lindsey Lumley, Courtney Lumley, Kyley Zumalt, Ashley Lumley, Blake Lumley, Amber Imperiale, and Tiffany Imperiale; great grandchildren Camron and Carter Lumley. He was preceded in death by his siblings JoAnne Stover, Helen Pack and Fred Lumley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment with Fire Department Honors will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
