

Harold Lee Kent, 88, passed away May 30, 2016. Visitation is Saturday, June 4th from 1:00-2:00PM and funeral is 2:00PM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Inurnment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Harold was born October 13, 1927 to Jesse and Ola (Atkinson) Kent. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Turner High School. Harold served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp, Navy and Army National Guard. Upon honorable discharge from the military, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a Carman before his retirement. Harold was a member of American Legion Post 199, Association of Retired & Veteran Railway Employees, Inc., and the 69th Infantry Brigade. In his free time, he enjoyed researching his family’s genealogy.
Harold is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Ralph and Arnold; son, Clifford and wife Joyce. He is survived by his children, Myra, Greg, Jeffrey and Martha; sister, Sandra Grey; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and companion, Myrtle Thoele.
