

Isabel N. Westley, 97, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 9th, at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Isabel was born June 20, 1915 in Sandy Ridge, Pennsylvania to Howard and Margaret (Merril) Moore. She was the first member of her family to graduate high school, when she graduated from Osceola High School in Osceola Pennsylvania, with a Perfect Attendance Award. She had lived in the Kansas City area since 1961, when she moved here from New York City. Isabel was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word, always keeping busy sewing, crocheting, latch hooking, embroidering or baking. She was a past member of Grandview United Methodist Church in Kansas City, KS, and she loved watching Kansas City Royals Baseball.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Moore; 1 sister, Carmen Wiser; and her husband of 59 years, Charles B. Westley, when he died in 1995.
Survivors include 7 children, Lynn Westley & wife Josephine of Mount Sinai, New York, Lester Westley & wife Lynda of Mount Holley, New Jersey, Margaret Laraway & husband Robert of Naubinway, Michigan, Elizabeth Perry of Independence, Missouri, Charles Westley, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri, Robert Westley & wife Nancy of Shawnee, Kansas, and Jennifer Marshall & husband John of Allen, Texas; 1 sister, Catherine Cowher of Lenexa, Kansas; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
