

James Conley Welter, 92, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away September 24, 2016. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial visitation from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., and Memorial Mass at 11:00 all on Thursday, Sept. 29th at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Inurnment will follow the Mass in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Jim was born July 16, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas to James Francis and Goldie Welter. Jim spent his entire life in Kansas City, Kansas. He attended St. Peters Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Ward High School. Jim met his wife, Betty, in San Diego, California and they married on July 7, 1946. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Kansas City and started a family. Jim retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 30 years as a taxpayer assistance supervisor. Jim will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, James Francis “Frank” Welter, and his wife of 68 years, Betty.
Jim is survived by his children, Richard Welter and his wife Lynn, Don Welter and his wife Carol, and daughter Sheri Hauck and her husband Steve; his grandchildren; Dana Gering and her husband Mark, Justin Welter, Warren Welter, Holly Davidson and her husband Seth, Derek Welter and his wife Maggie, Geoff Gates, and Kelly Guerra and her husband Romeo, his great grandchildren; Justin and Noah Welter, Drew and Stella Davidson, Brooklyn and Greyson Gering, Kassidie Welter, James Welter; as well as many other friends and family.
