Jean Elizabeth Theno, 85, Basehor, Kansas passed away February 9, 2019. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kansas. A funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 13, 2019, also at the funeral home. Interment will be immediately following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to Basehor Community Library, 1400 158th St., Basehor, KS 66007.
Jean was born on October 26, 1933 in Basehor, Kansas to William and Hilda VanTuyl. She graduated from Basehor High School, where she was the first crowned Homecoming Queen. Jean was married to Howard Theno, the love of her life on June 1, 1952. She was an active member of Fairmount United Methodist Church in Leavenworth, Kansas. Jean loved to garden and canned many vegetables, she also enjoyed cooking and sewing. She also helped Howard run his home building business.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Jean is survived by her three children, Nancy Davis and husband Bill of Azle, Texas, Judy Rodina of Basehor, Kansas, and Jeff Theno and wife Stephanie of Basehor, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jeanine Ratliff and husband Derrick, Kyle Davis and wife Jessica, Nick Rodina and wife Megan, Luke Rodina and wife Jonel, Brooke Ruegsegger and husband Jeremy, and Nicole Theno; eleven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Caroline, Cora Ratliff with Isaac on the way, Akadia and Samuel Davis, and Emma, Aidan, Isabel, Ida, and Ruth Rodina; as well as many other relatives and friends.
