Joel lived in Kansas City, Kansas from birth to 1992 and then moved to Paola, Kansas from 1992 until his death. He was member of Overland Park Baptist Temple; he attended Turner High School and graduated in 1992. He was involved in Special Olympics and enjoyed participation in all the events. He also loved the Chiefs and was avid fan, he enjoyed playing the computer game Wii. He enjoyed going to church and he loved Country Music and Christian Music which he listened to on a regular basis. He was very happy person and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Bessie Sutton. His survivors are a sister Tonia Ison (Jack) of Topeka, Kansas and a brother Bill Sutton of Junction City and nieces and nephews. He also had several friends at the Lake Mary group home where he resided for several years. He loved Lake Mary and all his staff and friends.
A visitation for Joel will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Overland Park Baptist Temple, 11648 Antioch Road, Overland Park, KS 66210, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
