

Joy A. Miller, 86, of KCK, passed away November 12, 2013. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16th at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK, with a visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m., preceding the service. Joy was born October 28, 1927 in KCK to Charles “Frank” and Helen Ashren. A lifelong KC resident, she graduated from Wyandotte HS in 1945. Joy worked for 30 years at the Federal Reserve Bank as a secretary and retired on January 1st, 1988. She was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church, the Eagles Club #199 and the 25 years Club at the FRB. Joy loved her family, taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was her greatest joy. She enjoyed sports, fishing, camping, gardening and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles “Frank” and Helen Ashren and her daughter, Marcia Peirsol.
Joy is survived by the love of her life, Charlie Ross; her granddaughters, Lynsey Schick (Mike) and Gretchen Peirsol; her great-grandchildren, Dakota and Taylor Schick; her son-in-law, Steve Peirsol; her sister, Minnette Rhoads and her family; as well as the Ross and Hatfield families, many relatives and friends.
