Karlos was born on January 25, 1934 to Jesse O. Morgan Sr. and Lavenia Pearl (Shepherd) Morgan. He graduated from High School in Lake Charles, LA and went on to Southern Nazarene University where he met and married his wife of 64 years, Mary Elizabeth (Foster) Morgan. Karlos graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO in 1965.
After graduation, Karlos pastored churches in Rodessa, LA and Texarkana, TX. Karlos and Mary returned to Kansas City where Karlos served as church pianist while working for the US Postal Service until his retirement. Karlos was a member of the Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene.
Karlos was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Gregg, and his brothers, Jesse O. Morgan Jr. of Shreveport, LA and Delbert Morgan of Groves, TX.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Rev. Michael (Diana) Morgan of Woodland, WA and Timothy (Janet) Morgan of Raytown, MO. His 5 grandchildren: Melanie (Eugene) Lee of Maywood Park, OR; Angela Morgan of Portland, OR; Jared (Carissa) Morgan, of Maywood Park, OR; Melinda Morgan of Raytown, MO and Nathaniel Morgan of Little Rock AFB. His 4 Great-Grandchildren: Madelyn and Keegan Lee and Ameron and Cade Morgan; one sister-in-law, Leora Foster of Wichita, KS.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at KC Hospice House for their care in his final days and to our friends and extended family for their support.
A “drive-up” style visitation on Monday, October 12, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas, 66112. Come to offer your condolences to Karlos' family and pay your final respects to Karlos while following social distancing guidelines from the safety of your vehicle. Please use the north entrance and follow posted signs. The following day, Tuesday, October 13, 2020 a graveside service will start at 10:00 am Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, 23215 West 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas 66227 with Reverend Anne Hardy presiding.
