

Katherine Irene Brueggeman, lovingly known as Kathy, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 14, 1938, in Thayer, Kansas, Kathy was a shining example of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Kathy’s life was a testament to her deep Christian faith, which guided her every step. She found inspiration in Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Flashpoint, and her gentle, prayerful spirit was a blessing to all who knew her. She had a sharp sense of humor, often joking that for any occasion, all she wanted was “a million dollars and a Rolls Royce.”
Kathy was married to Jery Green, with whom she raised their three children. Though they later divorced, she eventually married David Brueggeman, sharing love and companionship until his passing.
As a hardworking and devoted woman, Kathy built a fulfilling career, retiring from Walmart’s corporate offices in Bentonville, Arkansas. However, her greatest joy was her family. Kathy was the heart of her family, always giving unconditional love and support. Her green thumb was legendary, bringing life to every plant she touched, and her thoughtful gifts were cherished reminders of her kindness and care.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Irene Howe; her siblings, Gerald Keith, Helen, and Charlotte; her husband, David Brueggeman; and her beloved son, Scott. She is survived by her brothers Mort and Wes Howe; her children, Cheynet (Jason McGuire) and Doug Green; and her cherished grandchildren, Lily McGuire, Michael Green, Kaitlin Green, and Damon Green (Tamara).
A celebration of Kathy’s beautiful life will take place at a later date. Her family invites all who knew her to come together to honor her memory and the extraordinary love she shared.
Kathy’s love, grace, and warmth touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a lasting testament to a life well lived and deeply loved.
