

Larry W. McAdams, 72, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away November 11, 2017 on Veteran’s Day. He was preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, Betty and William McAdams; two sisters, Billy Jo and Patty; his wife, Diana McAdams; sister-in-law, Barbie McAdams; and nephew, Matthew McAdams.
He is survived by his four children, Rebecca Rinke and her husband Mark of Olathe, Kansas, Patricia Hernandez and her husband Adam of Kansas City, Kansas, Elizabeth Pimental of Jay, Oklahoma, and John McAdams and his wife, Crystal of Kansas City, Kansas; 11 grandchildren, John, Jr., Alyssa, Aiden, Scotty, Jr., Dominic, Addison, Sara, Christian, Billy, Matthew, and Evelyn; three siblings, Wayne McAdams and his wife Susan of Leavenworth, Kansas, Susan Turney and her husband Eddie of Kansas City, Kansas and Sandra Ashley and her husband William of West Olive, Michigan; and numerous extended family.
Larry was an active member of the Westside Church of Christ, always providing an example to live up to, and giving Godly advice when called upon. Larry voluntarily joined the Army in 1965, and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He fought in the Vietnam War, serving Stateside several years thereafter. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Larry was a dedicated husband and father, raising his children to know and love God. He worked professionally as a Brickmason/Stonemason for 26 years at the Unified School District 500 in Kansas City, Kansas. He loved children, and could always be seen running around and playing with them, even into his upper years. His ornery personality and positive outlook will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM with a funeral service at 11 AM, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Westside Church of Christ, 8740 State Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will immediately follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Westside Church of Christ.
