Leo V. McBride Sr.

Leo V. McBride, Sr., 84, passed away November 7, 2015. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 10th from 5:00-7:30PM with a Rosary to be prayed at the end of visitation at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, November 11th at 11:00AM at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow Mass in Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 12800 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas.

Leo was born in St. Mary’s, Kansas to Frank and Alice (Hochard) McBride. He attended Bishop Ward High School and graduated in 1949. Leo joined the Navy in 1951. He was married to Stella Rose Theno on November 12, 1955. Leo worked as a construction worker through Carpenters Union Local 168 until retirement. He then worked at Industrial Bank as a teller for more than 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Stella Rose; son, Leo McBride, Jr; son-in-law, Jeff Young; and his brother, Clem McBride.

Leo is survived by his daughters; Kathleen Young, Theresa McBride, Lisa Stinnett (Michael); daughter-in-law, Nancy McBride; granddaughters, Madisyn and Brooklyn; brother, Roger McBride (Sylvia); sister, Mary Alice Macek (Tom); sister-in-law, Caroline McBride, as well as many other family and friends.
