Mabel Delores Harrell

Mabel "Delores" Harrell of Emporia entered into rest, while surrounded by her loved ones, Saturday, May 7, 2016. She was 80. Delores was born Friday, January 10, 1936 in her home in Cowgill, Missouri to Chauncy and Susan (Floyd) Caldwell. She lovingly raised five children, enjoyed scrapbooking, and was a wonderful cook. Delores welcomed everyone into her home. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Chauncy and Susan Caldwell; brothers, Floyd, Harold, Leslie, Jiggs, and Kenneth Caldwell; sister, Violet Roadcap; and grandson, Dusty Jackson. She is survived by her sons, Steven and Kim Harrell of Kansas City, Kansas, Mark and Valerie Harrell of Leavenworth County, Kansas, and Marvin and Toni Harrell of Emporia, Kansas; daughters, Beverly and Cal Sanderson of Buffalo, Missouri and Lorna Thompson of Springdale, Arkansas; brother, Charlie and Earlene Caldwell of Eldon, Missouri; sisters, Ruby Anderson and Maxine Watkins both of Braymer, Missouri; sister-in- law, Sandy Caldwell of Blue Springs, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; and hundreds of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Rob Clausen at 11:00 am on Friday, May 13, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Emporia. Family will receive friends at 10:00 am. A graveside service will take place at 2:30 pm on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Loren and Delores Harrell Scholarship Fund at ESU in care of Charter Funerals.
