

Margaret Kendrick “Peggy” Peoples, 94, passed away August 4, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 18th at Aberdeen Village, 17500 W. 119th St., Olathe, KS 66061. Private inurnment will be conducted at the People’s Family Cemetery in Shelby County, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Aberdeen Village.
Mrs. Peoples was born in Kansas City, Missouri, attended E.C. White Elementary School and graduated from Southwest High School. She resided most of her life in the greater Kansas City area, except for 20 years in St. Louis, MO and Forest Hills, NY. Peggy was employed by Sak’s Fifth Avenue in New York City and St. Louis as Department Manager and Fashion Coordinator.
She was a member of the KC Chapter of the DAR, Missouri Society; a member of the O.E.S., Euclid Chapter, No 425 of Missouri; a past member of the Leawood Women’s Club, The Madotta Shrine of Kansas and the Kansas City Athenaeum.
Peggy was a member of the Country Club Christian Church of Kansas City and their Letha Bash Circle. She served for many years as a volunteer for the American Red Cross of Johnson County, Kansas, delivering Meals on Wheels to the elderly. Peggy’s husband, John D. Peoples, to whom she had been married 58 years, preceded her in death on September 8, 2002.
Her family survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Patricia Olson of Harlingen, Texas and Mrs. Kay Humbird of Shawnee Mission, Kansas as well as many grand-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peoples gave her deep thanks and appreciation for all of her loving friends and staff at Aberdeen Village.
