Norman was saved at a young age at First General Baptist Church in Armourdale, KS. He attended Washington High School and graduated in 1968.
Norman proudly served his country in the United States Navy, carrying the values of dedication and loyalty throughout his life. Norman served on the USS PYRO AE-24; and during the years of 1968 to 1970 served in many different locations worldwide including San Diego, Hawaii, Philippines, Vietnam, Midway Island, Singapore, Thailand, Japan and Hong Kong.
After his honorable discharge from military service, Norman went to work for Farmland Industries in Muncie, KS. He finally retired after 42 years with Farmland Industries.
Norman had a passion for tractor pulls, NASCAR racing, fishing, traveling, football, baseball, golf and car shows. He was our baseball and softball coach. Norman cherished time with his family above all else. He enjoyed watching classic westerns and had a special fondness for The Wizard of Oz, a favorite he never tired of revisiting.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose steady presence and love for his family will be deeply missed. Norman was a hardworking man who found great joy in simple pleasures and time spent with those he loved. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Pamela Ann (Ishmael) Hancock, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. He was also known as her ‘Babydoll’. Together they built a family that became the center of his world.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Audrie Hancock; his brother, William “Corky” Hancock and his father-in-law, Lowell Ishmael.
Norman is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Ann Hancock of 54 1/2 years; his mother-in-law, Ilah Rose “Rosie” Ishmael; his brother, Kenny Hancock and wife Debbie; his sister, Wendy Ussery and husband Kenneth; his brother-in-laws, Tim Ishmael and wife Debra; Randy Ishmael and wife Debbie; and his sister-in-law, Denise Ishmael. He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his children:
daughter, Tamara Bradshaw and husband Timothy Bradshaw, and their children Andrea Lloyd, and her daughter Sheilah Hill; Carley Bradshaw, and significant other Daniel Kurtz-Enko; and, Wylie Bradshaw;
daughter, Charissa Miranda and husband Jonathen Miranda, and their children Alex Miranda, and wife Abby Miranda and their daughters Rosalie, Layla, and Lilliana; Destiny Miranda, and significant other Joseph Rogers and their son Bentley; Ryan Miranda;
daughter, Shannon Luna and husband Joey Luna and their son Isaiah Luna; son, Joshua Hancock;
daughter, Jessica Bates and her sons Dylan Bates, and significant other Cheyanne and daughter, Raelynn; Nicholas Bates, and Cameron Bates. Norman was also blessed with multiple nieces and nephews who brought him much pride and joy.
Norman will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his deep love for his family, his sense of humor, and the many stories he shared. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape and the countless memories he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed and forever loved. “Fly like an Eagle”

Visitation will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112, on March 6, 2026 at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with full Navy Honors.
