

Opal G. Taylor, 103, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother left us to join her Savior on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Nottingham Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22nd at Victory Hills Baptist Church, 2010 N 66th Ter., Kansas City, KS 66104, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. preceding the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Victory Hills Baptist Church.
Opal was born February 9, 1911 in Aurora, MO to Thomas and Sadie Stewart. A long-time Kansas City resident, she married Rhuel Taylor in 1925 and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage before his passing. Opal was a member of Victory Hills Baptist Church where she took part in various organizations. She was the manager of the gift wrapping department at The Jones’ Store for many years. Opal enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rhuel; her son, Vernon; her grandchildren, Stacey Taylor, Kevin Moles and Denise Brune; as well as three sisters, and two brothers.
Opal is survived by her daughter, Frieda Troupe (Bob); her sons, Donald Taylor (Eileen), and Rhuel “Tom” Taylor (Elaine); grandchildren, Matt Taylor, Bob Moles, Don Taylor, Jr., Phil Taylor, Steve Taylor, Brent Taylor, Ray Taylor, Melissa Taylor and Perry Taylor; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
