Philip J. Wallack was born June 30, 1932 in Bronx, New York to Irving and Clementina Wallack. He was the first of three boys. Philip, a voracious reader loved books, classical music, traveling, and home. Philip received his B.S. in Physics from City College of New York and M.S. in Mathematics also from City College. While at the City College, Philip interrupted his education to go into the Army for two years where he worked as a radio operator in the anti-aircraft battalion. Philip stopped short of his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at New York University and went on to work at Princeton University in analysis and design of techniques for solution of space flight trajectory problems, Republic Aviation Corporation, Long Island, New York, Director, Computer Center at Jersey State College, and Information Systems at the University of Illinois. He was Director of Data Processing at the City of Kansas City, Missouri and Professor of Computer Sciences at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) for over 20 years. He loved being on the faculty of JCCC. Philip says his best career decision was to go to the University of Illinois at Chicago where he met Alice Piggee, the love of his life. Philip and Alice enjoyed thirty seven magical years together and a blended family of two – Rebecca Amber Loretta Piggee and Blaise Piggee Wallack. Philip was a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Association for Computing Machinery, member and co-founder of True Light Church of the Nazarene and True Light Family Resource Center. He was a brilliant man, a responsible father and loving husband. He will be missed tremendously.
Philip is preceded in death by his father, Irving Wallack, mother Clementina (Palmieri) Wallack. He is survived by his wife Alice Piggee-Wallack, daughter, Rebecca Piggee, son, Blaise Piggee Wallack, grandchildren, Madisyn Wallack, Mason Wallack, Dillon Dixon, brothers Albert and Michael Wallack, nieces, Nicole (Bob Petty) Wallack, Gabrielle Wallack, brothers-in-law, James and Ronald Piggee, sister-in-law, Loretta Griffin, nephew Alfred Griffin, and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
