

Randy Carr, 60, passed away September 22, 2017 at North Kansas City Hospital surrounded by loving family. Visitation will be Friday, September 29th from 1:30-2:30 p.m., with funeral services at 2:30 p.m. all at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Randy was born October 30, 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas to Thomas and Naomi Carr. He graduated from Washington High School in 1974 in Kansas City, Kansas, where he played football. Randy worked at his father’s business, Walker Food Products, and he later worked for the Piper Unified School District. Randy and his family were lifelong members of Bethel Lutheran Church. In his younger years, he was a motocross racer and won many trophies. Randy was a die-hard Jayhawks and Chiefs fan. He enjoyed Nascar and attended several Indy 500 races. He was also very devoted to his parents and family.
Randy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Amy Carr; his loving parents, Tom and Naomi Carr; and his godparent, Bill Gunther.
He is survived by his daughters, Katie (Carr) Lugo and her husband Daniel, and Megan (Carr) Harvey and her husband Aaron; his three grandchildren, Cruz and Camila Lugo, and Jackson Harvey; the love of his life, Linda Wood Carr; his lifelong friend, Jaymie Kays; his godparent, Dorothy Gunther; his cousins, Betty Stone and Norma Barger; and his sister-in-law, Connie McCormick.
