

Royal R. Tucker, 89, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Veteran’s Home in St. James, MO. Memorial Service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 25th, at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that any contributions be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation. Royal was born October 27, 1921 in Eugene, MO, to Raymond and Jessie (Hill) Tucker, and he had lived in the Kansas City Area most of his life. He attended Wyandotte High School, and honorably served our country as a sailor in the U. S. Navy during W.W.II in both the Philippines and Hawaii. He was a Steel Worker and a member of The Iron Workers Local 520. He enjoyed playing guitar, and loved softball, basketball, bingo and card games. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. Tucker. Survivors include his children, Deborah Hickman and her husband Don of Sunrise Beach, MO, and Darrell W. Tucker and his wife Angela Kidwell of Kansas City, KS; 5 grandchildren, Carrie Hickman, Kyle Tucker, David Kidwell and his wife Tracy, Danny Kidwell and Michael Kidwell; 5 great-grandchildren, Livia, Chandler, Cameron, Caleb and David; sister, Doris Lee Carol of Kansas City, KS; and 2 brothers, Lloyd Tucker of Overland Park, KS, and Carl Tucker and his wife Ella Rae of Kansas City, KS.
