

Shelley N. Roth, of Basehor, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at her parents’ home. A memorial gathering will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, March 4 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Kansas City Hospice House or the Basehor Friends of the Library.
Shelley was born September 3, 1951 in Falls City, Nebraska to Herbert and Myrna Nixon. She was an RN for her working life around the Kansas City area. She volunteered for the Basehor Friends of the Library. Shelley loved going to the casino to play the slot machines and was really glad to get the chance to go to the new Hollywood Casino. She enjoyed going to the dinner theater and watching KU Jayhawk basketball. Shelley loved collecting McDonald’s toys, sewing, crafting and scrapbooking in the “Stamp It Up” group in Basehor. Her family was her pride and joy including her two dogs, Sweet Pea and Lulu.
Shelley was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and her maternal grandfather.
She is survived by her parents Herbert and Myrna Nixon of Tonganoxie, grandmother Winnie Hazelwood, daughter Hayley Metsker of Basehor, grandchildren Caleb and Sophie Metsker, sister Lisa Shore and husband Brian of Tonganoxie, niece Erin Shore, nephew Spencer Shore, ex-husband Larry Roth and many, many friends.
