Shirley A. Courtney was born August 16, 1950 to Elizabeth "Betty" Seute-Courtney and Norman E. Courtney. She graduated from Washington High School in 1968 and in the mid 1970's started a career in computer programming at Bethany Medical Center where she worked until its closure. She then worked at Providence Medical Center, Overland Park Regional and finally at Menorah Medical Center until she was forced into early retirement due to health issues in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Betty Courtney and sister-in-law Dianne E. Courtney.
Survivors include her brother Kenny Courtney, her niece Errin D. Shultz (James), her nephew Bradley Courtney (Lisa), great nieces & nephews Josh, Brandon, DeLacy, Sammy, Courtney & Jimmy. Five great great nephews and a great great niece who is almost here. Aunt Audrey Seute and cousins Jackie, Tim, Rex, Robin, Virginia Williamson and long time child hood friend Alyce "Cookie" Garver-Tillery.
Shirley's family would want to give many thanks to the staff at Advent Health Rehab Center for their care and compassion.
Shirley's health struggles are finally over and may she rest in peace! She was loved and will be missed by all!
