

William “Bill” Ross, 82, of KCK, passed away January 5, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospice House. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 with a visitation from 12:30-2 prior to the service all at Chapel Hill – Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House.
Bill was born January 11, 1933 in Kansas City, KS to Charles and Cora Mae Ross. He worked for the railroad before he was drafted into the Army, where he served in Korea from 1953-1955. Bill earned the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medals during his tour of service. He married Patsy J. Apperson on April 20, 1958 and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage before her passing. Bill worked for Perks Food Company for over twenty years then worked in maintenance for the Kansas City Kansas public schools system for ten years. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Masons. Bill’s main pastime was watching Western movies.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Cora Mae Ross; his wife, Patsy J. Ross; his son, David Ross; his great-granddaughter, Mikayla Langford; as well as four brothers and one nephew.
He is survived by his children, Pam Stevens (Randy), and Dan Ross (Kerry); grandchildren, Amanda Langford (Troy), Jennifer Prodoehl (Allen), Nicole Crossen (Austin), Dustin Ross, and Austin Ross; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Prodoehl, Zackary and Zander Langford.
