

Allen Lee Meyer, a devoted and kind-hearted individual, passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on July 7, 1952, in Valparaiso, Indiana, Allen was a resident of Grandview, Missouri.
Allen graduated from California High School in California, Missouri, where he held many basketball records while playing varsity ball. After high school, he attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, on a basketball scholarship and later graduated from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science.
Throughout his career, Allen was the Manager at EK George & Sons in Grandview and Belton, Missouri, retiring in 2017 after more than forty years of dedicated service. He was honored with numerous company achievements. Allen was deeply involved in his community, serving on various boards including the Grandview C-4 Board of Education, serving as President and Vice President, South Kansas City Rotary, Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce as President from 1989 to 1990, Salvation Army Advisory Board as Chairman, Harry S. Truman Chapter of the Air Force Association since 1987, Richard-Gebaur Base Community Council, High Grove PTA, and as a founding member of Harmony in Grandview, Missouri, and the Sister City Committee. He was also awarded the privilege of sitting in the Buck O'Neil seat at Kauffman Stadium.
Allen married Christine Marie Meyer on October 17, 1983, who survives him. He is also survived by his children, Jeff Kinney and his wife Jessica, Lisa Remer and her husband Steve, Jennifer Snapp and her husband Darin, and his grandchildren, Max Motley, Alexis Harmon, Mason Remer, Leo Kinney and Gus Kinney. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Charles Patrick Meyer and his wife Patty. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Lee Meyer, brothers, Don and Ken Meyer, nephew, Russell Meyer and niece, Tina Jenkins.
A hard-working and loyal man, Allen had a passion for golfing, travel, fishing, hunting, and smoking meat. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds and participated in basketball, softball, and golf. Allen has been a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church since 1974, where he served as an Elder and President of the Congregation.
Visitation will be held on October 2, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. The funeral service will be on October 3, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the same location, followed by a committal service at Mount Moriah Cemetery South from 3:00 pm to 3:15 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grandview Education Foundation in Memory of Allen Meyer or the Red Barn Farm Ministry for water wells to provide clean water in Africa. Allen will be remembered as a generous and faithful member of his community, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and warmth.
