Angela Marie Ziemer

Angela was born on March 8, 1960, to Maynard and Mary Wichman in Kearney, Nebraska. Early in her life, Angela demonstrated talents in singing, art, and creative writing. As a child, she was involved in 4-H and Girl Scouts. Her warm personality fostered many friendships. In 1978, she graduated from Kearney High School, where she was active in Job’s Daughters and the Youth for Christ organization.

After high school, Angela earned a bachelor’s of science degree (1981) and master’s of science degree (1984) in Speech-Language Pathology at Kearney State College. She was a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. During her professional career, she worked in Alexandria, Louisiana; Woodward, Iowa; and Beatrice, Nebraska before settling in the Kansas City area.

In 2008, Angela married Timothy Ziemer at the Antioch Bible Baptist Church. She remained a committed member of her church community and loved spending time with her fellow church members.

Angela retired in 2022 and spent her time volunteering at a thrift store, creating craft projects and spending time with her beloved poodles, Tanner and Bogey.

Throughout her life, she was a dedicated friend known for her kind heart and a generosity that knew no bounds. She was a beautiful soul who would help anyone in need.

She is survived by her husband Timothy, brothers Chris (Teri) and John (Christine) Wichman, sister Mary Johansen, nieces Abby and Allie Wichman, sister-in-law Judy (Rodger) Cooper, nephew Nathan (Selena) Meyers and niece Jennifer Meyers, and great-nephew Lucas and great-niece McKenna Meyers.

She is preceded in death by parents Maynard and Mary Wichman, brother-in-law Eric Johansen, parent-in-laws Richard and Clara Ziemer.

A celebration of life will be held at the Antioch Bible Baptist Church on Saturday, January 18, 2025, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date at the Kearney Cemetery, Kearney, Nebraska.
