

Angie Rodriguez, 84 of Kansas City, MO died Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Monday, June 27 at Sacred Heart/Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2544 Madison, Kansas City, MO. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be 4-6 p, Sunday, June 26 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO, where the Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm.
Angie was the oldest of eight, and family meant everything to her. She went to work at an early age to help support the family. She always said, "family is family no matter what happens. She truly lived by those words everyday.
Angie was born April 20, 1932 in Kansas City, KS to Adolfo and Josefa (Aguilera) Parra, who preceded her in death. She worked for Nellie Don as a transportation supervisor and later for American Salt in customer service. She met Ramon (Ray) Rodriguez in 1947 and married September 29, 1953. Angie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ray of the home; son Ramon Rodriguez and wife Maria of Manhattan, KS and Elaine Salazar and husband Mac of Kansas City, MO; four brothers, Adolph Parra, Roberto Parra, Ricardo Parra and Alfredo Parra and life companion, Peter Harakas; sisters, Vera Rios, Abbie Aguirre and Esther Muro; four grandchildren, Rebekah Rodriguez, Kevin Salazar and wife Taylor, Patrick Salazar and Thomas Salazar; and two great grandsons, Mikey and Cooper.
