Born October 23, 1941, Ann was raised in the North End of Kansas City. Daughter of Albert LaSala and Rose (Vaccaro) LaSala, owners of LaSala’s Market on Fifth Street.
Ann graduated from Holy Rosary Elementary in 1954; Cardinal Glennon High School in 1958 and Fontbonne University in 1963. She taught elementary school as a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet - St. Louis Diocese and later worked as an administrative assistant to Dr. F. Anthony Thomas, a dermatologist, until she retired in 2013.
Ann loved her family fiercely which was shown through the many meals she cooked, Italian cookies she baked and hands of Liverpool she played. That love was also woven deeply through her beading of elaborate Christmas tree skirts and stockings.
She was kind, compassionate, considerate and brave. She made friends wherever she went. She laughed easily and often. She loved going to lunch with her friends and talking to her sister and her childhood best friend on the phone, and anyone who knew her will miss absolutely everything about her.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents; husband George J. Capra of 38 years; brother and sister-in-law Joseph LaSala and Catherine (Accurso) LaSala; sister Beverly Blando and brother-in-law Dr. Manuel Blando; sisters-in-law Grace (Capra) Cartella; Marie Capra; Florence Capra and brother-in-law Salvatore Capra. She is survived by her children; Joseph Capra (Chicago); Albert Capra; Angela Capra; Rose Bridson (Chris); Ann Marie Capra, her sister Dr. Clara LaSala (CA), and by many loving nieces and nephews.
