Arthur earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas and went on to receive a Master’s in English from the University of Alabama Birmingham. He built a distinguished career in education, teaching at Pembroke Hill School and Fort Worth Country Day School before serving as Headmaster at The Barstow School. He had a genuine passion for teaching and made a lasting impact on the many students whose lives he touched.
Beyond the classroom, Arthur could often be found on the golf course or out on his bike — two joys that kept him active and connected to life’s simple pleasures.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelley Cartmell; son-in-law, Tom Cartmell; and grandchildren, Trent and Quinci Cartmell. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Robyn Trent.
