

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James H. Shultz. Her parents: Raymond W. and Maude M. Sharp, her brothers: Joseph, Raymond, Donald and Robert Sharp and Sister: Rogene Chapman.
Survived by her Beloved Children: Debra Shultz, Jeanna Verden (Kent), and James E. Shultz, grandchildren: James D. Shultz, Serena Maude Verden and Sydney Shultz (Nick Madl), and great grandson: James K. Verden.
Barbara was born in Sharpsville, El Dorado, Kansas May 3, 1933. She moved to Kansas City with her family when she was five. She graduated from Westport High School in 1950, where she was a member of Beta Delta Chi Sorority.
She was eight years old when she met her beloved husband, Jim, he was ten. They married on her birthday May 3, 1952 and celebrated 58 years of marriage until his death on June 17, 2010.
Barbara dedicated her life to her family. You did not have to be family to be part of her family. In fact, there were her beloved “sisters,” Dodi and Donna her “son and daughter” Tom and Jan and many, many more.
Above all she was a Lady. Love, Kindness, Generosity and Caring defined Barbara and she always put others before herself.
She was most recently a member of Rotary Club 13 Ladies Auxiliary and Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary. She was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 25 and funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Korean War Veterans Memorial.
