Berle M. Lee was born April 10, 1938 in Moorehead, Iowa. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri shortly after high school graduation where he owned and operated a construction and concrete company. He was an entrepreneur and a visionary. There was nothing he could not fix with just a sledge hammer and piece of steel. His work is displayed in over 500 buildings in the Kansas City area. After his retirement, he enjoyed truck building and trading, always enjoying the challenge of a new deal. He was a kind and gentle man who would give his last dime to a person in need. Berle’s greatest love in life was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren and being part of their lives. He also enjoyed a good game of cards with friends and a good night at the casino, never fearing to go all in.
Berle is survived by his wife Mary of the home, sons Dennis (Gretchen), Dan (Dana) and Ronnie Lee, daughter Wendy, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother Gary (Earline), sister-in-law Cheryl (Shawn) and many nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved dog and faithful companion, Bella.
The family wishes to thank nurses Sue, Denise, Theresa, Kathleen, and Cathy for their true concern, comfort and love during his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs or Kansas City Hospice House.
Rest well my love until we meet again.
