I am so very sorry for your loss, Lynne and Dana. It was a great pleasure to meet Bernie and she has been such a wonderful friend as well as another mother of mine in the US. No words can describe my feelings of losing her yet I know that she is in heaven with God now. It is always painful when losing a dear family but I will think of and pray for you.

Bernie and I became friends in 1948 when we attended Southwest Baptist College at Boliver, Missouri and along with three other girls made up a group that remained friends for sixty-six years. Our friend Lucy went on before us several years ago so there are only three of us left.. Bernie and I applied to nursing school together but we both changed our minds and went on to other pursuits. i was in Bernie's and Richard's wedding. Bernie was a wonderful friend and a wonderful person. I know you will miss her terribly but I am convinced that our Lord has taken her by the hand. God Bless you all and give you peace. Your mother (and father) were so special to me growing up at Swope Park.  I first knew them as young adults with my parents as their TU leaders.  Then they were my TU leaders and she was my SS teacher.  Such fond memories I have.  I know it is not easy to lose a parent.  My prayers are with you.

 Dana, Lynne, and Chad,the Indian Creek Princesses have heard about you for so many years that we feel we know all of you and because we also know your mom's wonderful qualities, we know how very much you will feel her loss.

I have always felt that she was a rare combination of sweetness and good humor. With these qualities, she combined brains and enthusiasm for her work. We all respected her as a teacher.

Over the years she attended as many of our I.C. get-togethers as  possible.   Her arrival meant that the group was complete; she was always so much fun.  I will miss her very much.

I will see you all on Saturday and bid goodbye to a dear lady.

Bernie was such a loving Mom to so many.  When Gary passed, she was so concerned for me & offered me encouragement & comfort with her wise & healing words.  I will always remember her love for her girls & Chad.  What a true blessing she was to all who knew her.  She will truly be missed!

Bernie will always be remembered as one of the most kind, sweet, and loving persons I have ever known.  She was always so happy and worked hard at keeping it that way!!!!

Dana, Lynn, and Chad, I wanted to take the opportunity to share my fondest memories of Bernie. I was always impressed that my Aunt Bernie was a snappy dresser, and she was one of first people I knew, that drank coffee in the afternoon! I used to like to make her giggle cause she had a sweet funny laugh, and if I had known her middle name was Mae I certainly would have taken advantage of that! A tiny woman
  with a big heart,
Berne stands tall
  with her faith and love.

A patient master
  leading children
in learning the important lessons of life,
  she is a calming presence
who draws peace from chaos,
  glory from grief,
and serenity from anxiety.

  Berne is a loving wife,
mother, grandmother
  and friend.
In her new home in Heaven
  she's again in the loving arms
of Sir Richard
  and Jesus.
