Betty was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the youngest of 8 children. She was the daughter of Orla B. and LaVerna (Steiner) Wagner. She graduated from Howe High School in 1944, and married the love of her life, Harold in 1946. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1958. Betty enjoyed square dancing, round dancing, pottery, sewing, traveling and most of all time with family and friends. She and her husband enjoyed their winters in Mesa, Arizona as well as many years with family at their second home at Table Rock Lake. She was a longtime member of Colonial Presbyterian, and a member of the Prime Timers Sunday School Class.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. Survivors include her husband, Harold, of 72 years, daughters, Tonya (Elliot) Mengel and Cindy (Steve) Musfeldt, and son Steve (Miriam) Kroeker, 8 grandchildren, Nicole (David) Weatherby, Tara (Brad) Daniels, Casey Mengel, Brad Musfeldt, Max Mengel, Chris (Andrea) Musfeldt, Stephen Kroeker, and Matt (Toshia) Kroeker and 9 great grandchildren, Conner, Laney, Chase, Will, Brooks, Hunt, Tennison, Rylin and Whitley.
Visitation will be from 1 - 2 pm Thursday, January 3, 2019 with the funeral service to follow at 2 pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
