Beverly Ann Yarbough Brown

Beverly Ann (Yarbough) Brown of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, at Kansas City Baptist Temple located at 5640 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., service will immediately follow starting at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Beverly Ann Brown was born February 14, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of John H. and Beatrice Yarbough, who preceded her in death. Beverly attended and graduated from Manuel High School in 1966, where she met and later married Preston L. Brown. Two children were born to this union, Kim M. Brown and Amika J. Brown. This union was dissolved in 2003, but they remained close friends. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her two grandchildren Aissa M. Brown and De’Onte M. Buckner. She was a dedicated child care provider for several years at Happy Day Preschool, where she obtained her Associates Degree in Early Childcare Education. She became a member of Kansas City Baptist Temple in 2009. Beverly enjoyed traveling, shopping, decorating, and spending time with her family. Beverly was also preceded in death by her brother Donald Yarbough. She leaves to cherish her memory six brothers Felix Williams Jr. of Hyattville, Maryland, Robert Williams (Annette) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ralph Yarbough, Dale Yarbough (Cheryl), John Yarbough (Joyce), and Gary Yarbough; four sisters Sharon Rolland (Willie), Sandra Vaughen (Glynn), Cathy Yarbough (Larry) and Jennifer Yarbough; father of her children Preston L. Brown; stepson Steve Sanders; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Arrangements under the direction of Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO.
