A native of Kansas City, he graduated from Kansas State University in 1968, with a degree in Architecture. In 1970 after returning from his tour in Vietnam, Bill started his architectural career with the firm, Franklin and Frieze. As his career progressed, he grew to partner and the name of the firm changed to Franklin-Frieze-Boice Architects, Inc. In 1993, Chuck Raidl and Chris Rhea joined him as partners changing the name of the firm to Boice, Raidl and Rhea, now known as BRR Architecture. Bill was the president of BRR Architecture until his retirement in 2010.
Bill met his wife, Linda Lucas, in high school. They were married for 61 years. Bill is survived by his wife, Linda, two children, Greg W. Boice (Janice, wife) and Stefanie Boice, four grandchildren: Liam Boice, Aine Boice, Lucas Boice and Kaleb Dobbs. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Arthur W. Boice Sr. and Lois Boice, and sister, Judith McDonald. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Bill enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, playing golf, hiking, running, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
Services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145. Visitation 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Funeral Service 11:00 am, Reception 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm.
