Robert ‘Bob’ Edward Masterson, of Gardner, Kansas passed away on Sunday, November 3rd 2024, at the age of 94 to be reunited with his wife on the date of their 68th Wedding Anniversary. He was born on October 12th, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri where he grew up with two brothers and two sisters.
He was a Veteran serving during the Korean War. Throughout his life he was involved in The Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 846, American Legion Post 370, and Holy Cross Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Rae Masterson, parents Robert and Catherine Masterson and four siblings.
He is survived by their children: Robert (Pam) Masterson, Charles (Pam) Masterson, Betsy (Darrell) Schupp, and David (Kim) Masterson, 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and extended family.
Family was the number one priority in Bob’s life, and it was special to him anytime the family was able to get together. He gave the best hugs, high fives and was always ready to listen without judgement.
The family would like to thank Olathe Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion they showed Bob during the past year. He enjoyed the weekly visits, smiles, and laughter.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Divine Mercy Parish at 555 West Main Street, Gardner, Kansas 66030 on Saturday November 9th at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Olathe Health Hospice.
Bob’s love knew no bounds for his family. He and Mom were our greatest treasures, and both will be deeply missed.
