Caitlin (Caitie) Elizabeth Newhall Harrington, 30, passed into her Eternal Life April 24th. Born February 10, 1991 to Dr. Bill Harrington and Deb Harrington in Newton, Kansas, Caitie was a fun-loving daughter, sister, and friend.
After four wonderful years in Newton, Caitie’s family moved to Lenexa, Kansas. The new city provided an active youth, filled with sports, strong friendships, and much laughter. Caitie was quite athletic, excelling at soccer, softball and swimming. Cheerleading became her real love when she first joined the Johnson County Football and Cheer Club and later made her high school cheer teams. Caitie graduated in 2009 from Shawnee Mission North after attending Shawnee Mission Northwest for three years.
Her grandparents nurtured Caitie’s love of Kansas State, and she followed her brother to the university after graduation. Caitie decided that school was not her calling and opted to work a variety of jobs, including a receptionist, a paralegal, and as a cheerleading teams sales associate. Caitie was a natural salesperson. Her gregarious nature and beautiful smile disarmed the most resistant buyer, but her sharp mind could seal almost any deal. We are grateful for all the professional opportunities she had and the fine people she met who helped her grow and learn.
Caitie found her forever person in Jammie Sisney of Dolthan, Alabama. Smitten from their first date, Caitie found her soulmate in this handsome, fun-loving Southern gentleman. Jammie provided Caitie with strength and stability, and the love they shared was unconditional and inspirational.
Caitie loved talking, whether it was by phone, text, Snap Chat or in person. She spent hours entertaining friends and family sharing funny pictures, telling dog stories, and just casually chatting. Caitie could make the most mundane conversation hilarious. Always a dog lover, Caitie spent hours cuddling and, of course, conversing with first Casey and most recently Lily, her border collie. Lily misses Caitie. Holidays and celebrations were particularly special to Caitie. Christmas was so special to Caitie that she had her Christmas tree up from October to March this year.
Caitie loved both Kansas State and Chiefs football. Game times were reserved for yelling at the television, and not for talking. Caitie could not resist puppies or babies, and she was always talking about getting a new puppy or having a baby. Caitie loved Fettuccini Alfredo, chicken strips, and Mexican food of any kind. Most of all, Caitie loved her family and friends deeply. We will miss this wonderful, bright, beautiful, fun-loving woman for the rest of our days.
Caitie was preceded in death by grandparents Billie Jeanne Harrington and William (Bill) L. Harrington. Survivors include parents, Bill Harrington and Deb Harrington; stepmother, Marianne Harrington; grandparents Ken and Lin Lewis; brothers Robb and John, sister-in-law, Erica, three nieces and one nephew; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, May 20 at 1:00PM hosted by Church of the Resurrection’s Wesley Covenant Chapel, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, Kansas 66224. [email protected] phone: (913) 897-0120
