Carl A. Dotson, 90, of Independence, MO, passed away at The Groves on April 19, 2011. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel. Funeral service at the chapel on Friday at 1pm with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Carl was born on January 9, 1921, in Warsaw, MO to Henry & Cora Dotson. He served in the US Army during WWII; earning two purple hearts. Carl retired from the Armco Steel Co. He was a member of the VFW Post 9997and loved to hunt & fish. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Dotson and is survived by his children, Betty Dotson, Carl Dotson, Jr. (Kathleen) & Bobby Dotson; a sister, Maxine Reynolds; 6 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.
