

Carl G. Roberds, 78, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his home of 50 years. Carl was born to Carl and Trella Roberds on August 3, 1937 in Scammon, Kansas. Carl graduated from Southeast High School in 1955. He earned an AA in Business Administration from Longview Community College. Carl started his career with General Electric as a warehouseman. He retired from G.E. as the national parts manager after 40 years of service. He was not one to sit at home. After retirement he then worked at IRS for 10 years. On October 17, 1964 he was united in marriage with Mary Margaret Brandt. They celebrated 50 years of marriage together. On December 5, 1967 their first daughter Mary Beth was born. Son Matthew came in 1973 followed by Carrie, his daughter in 1975. Carl was involved in all aspects of their lives. He was a hands on parent and he deeply loved his family. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during the Cold War, achieving the rank of Specialist 4th Class. He was a true patriot. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margie, son Matthew and daughter Carrie. He also leaves behind his most precious grandchildren, Annabelle and Noah, brother-in-law EuGene, sister-in-law Beth (who delighted in making him blush), and son-in-law Stephan and many loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was the most loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He would always be there for his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts or a charity of one’s choice.
