

Carrie Lee Douglas, age 93, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2011 at The Village Hospice at John Knox Village. Carrie was born Carrie Lee Behrbaum on September 23, 1917 in Kirksville, Missouri to William and Anna Dell Behrbaum. She was married to Henry George Douglas for 47 years until he preceded her in death. Carrie lived most of her life in Grandview, Missouri and worked for the Grandview License Bureau for many years until she retired to the Lake of the Ozarks. She was a member of ABWA. After Henry’s death in 1983 she moved back to Lee’s Summit to be close to her family. Carrie is survived by her only daughter Shirley (Charles) Plank, Lake Tapawingo, Missouri; granddaughters Debbie (Scott) Martin, Lake Tapawingo, Missouri and Diane (Andrew) Schwartz, Raymore, Missouri; great-grandchildren Ashli (Jason) Marshall, Blue Springs, Missouri and Ryan VanDeusen, Key West, Florida; stepgreat-grandchildren Michael, Julie and Rebecca Schwartz, Gregg (Charity) Martin and Jered Martin, all in the KC area; great-great-granddaughters Pagie Mackenzie Marshall and Grace Elizabeth Schwartz. A private family service will be held in Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home. The family requests donations in place of flowers to The Village Hospice at John Knox Village who gave her extraordinary care in her final days.
