Catalina Marie Raya

Catalina (Cathy) Marie Raya, age 55, passed away on February 11, 2007 at KU Medical Center. Cathy was born on July 31, 1951 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a lifelong resident of Kansas City and graduated from Bishop Lillis High School in 1969 and later received a business and accounting degree from UMKC. Cathy enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved the holidays. She was a very giving person and loved spoiling all of her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed traveling and took many trips with her parents and her “pretty sisters” as she affectionately referred to her best friends.

Cathy is survived by her parents, Clemente and Ramona Raya of Kansas City. She is also survived by six brothers and sisters-in-law, Clemente Raya Jr., Louis and Sylvia Raya, Porfirio and Norma Raya, all of Kansas City, Joseph and Janice Raya of McClouth, Kansas, Mark and Tammy Raya of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Roman Raya of Greenwood, Missouri. Cathy also leaves behind 16 nieces and nephews as well as 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. Cathy was preceded in death by her first beautiful niece, Olivia Raya.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
