Chaneta Johnson

Chaneta Johnson, 70, Kansas City, MO passed away July 19, 2021. Chaneta was born April 5, 1951 to the union of Garnell and Barbara Johnson in Kansas City, KS. She was the oldest of four children. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Geneva Issac; father Garnell Johnson; sister, Patricia Ann Golightly, uncle Howard C. Miller; aunt, Clara Miller; son Jeffrey Johnson and cousin, Herbert Dalton, Sr.

Chaneta received her education in the Kansas City, MO School District. She worked many years at Kingswood Senior Living Community. She was very family-oriented and loved spending time with them. Best known for her tidiness, Chaneta was also very outspoken and strong-willed. But under that spiciness was a bundle of love and generosity! She loved her teddy bears and figurines. Mom, you will be greatly missed...love you always!

She leaves to cherish her memory: mother Barbara Johnson; three children: Rhonda Hattley, Ronald Hattley and Muriel (Geoffrey) Younger; grandchildren: LeAnthony (Alyssa) Johnson, Ronald Lee Hattley, Jr., Shakila (Derrick) Brooks, Shakira Brown, Jasod Johnson, Treyveon Ashley, DeAndre Johnson, Rakeisha Hattley, Raneisha Hattley, LaRon Manning, LaQuan Hattley, Rateisha Hattley, Stevon'te Brown, Isaiah Younger, Shakia Brown, Promise Younger, Judah Younger, Ronnetta Hattley; two brothers, Terrell Johnson and Keith (Lydia) Block; niece and nephews, Jenny and Chris Golightly and Aaron (Sophia) Bond; and a host of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 10-11a.m., Saturday, July 31, followed by a funeral service at 11a.m. at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Interment at XII Gates Memorial Gardens.
