Charles Robert Nation, age 84, of Kansas City, MO passed away June 10, 2019 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Charles was born in Saint Louis, MO to Robert and Lovie Nation. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dennis Nation.
Charles grew up in Missouri and enlisted in the US Army, as well as served in the US Air Force, US Coast Guard & US Navy. He served his country a total of 13 years. Charles worked for the US Postal Service for several years; he then became a book binder for Dick Richardson Print CO. in KCMO. At the end of his career he was employed by Eagle Global Logistics as a truck driver. He was a member of Abundant Life Church in Lee’s Summit, MO. Charles liked to hunt, fish and motorcycle ride (three wheel) and also enjoyed bowling. At the end of his life he most enjoyed crossword puzzles. His favorite past time was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves behind his wife, Norma Nation of 62 years of Lee’s Summit, MO; his son, William Ray Ratty (Debbie), his daughter Caroline A. Overton (Randall) & his son Charles R. Nation Jr. (Nancie); 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services were as followed: Visitation, Wednesday June 12th, 2019, 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., Graveside, Thursday June 13th, 10:00 A.M. at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
