

He was born February 20, 1942, in Marshall, Missouri, the only child of Ora and Mildred (Poffenberger) Pointer. On July 21, 1962, he married Reba (Sinnett) Pointer. That union produced one child, Dana Moreland. On February 18, 1989, he was united in marriage to Winona (Bell) Pointer.
Charles grew up in Marshall, Missouri and graduated from Marshall High School. Growing up he developed a love of fishing, cars and handyman work. In 1964, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri when he went to work for General Motors. He worked for GM for a total of 27 years.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Reba Pointer, his parents, Ora and Mildred Pointer, and a great-grandson, Yzekiel Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Winona Pointer; his daughter, Dana Moreland and her husband, Kevin; a stepdaughter, Lorinda Thompson and her husband, Matt; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on November 3, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 E. 47th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64133, with funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm. A graveside service will take place at Newcomer's Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri, 64133.
