Chester Lee Evans, 89, of Lake Waukomis, MO, passed away on Monday January 3, 2011. Graveside services will be 11 AM Friday January 7, 2011 at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at McGilley Antioch Chapel. Chet was a WWII veteran, serving in the Pacific. After the War, he moved to Minnesota with his wife and became owner of the Follywood Point Resort. In 1950 he moved back to Kansas City to run the family business of Evans Transfer and Storage until retiring in 1986. Chet was preceded in death by his wife, Betty T. Evans, infant son Thomas, grandson Christopher and brother, George Evans. He is survived by a sister, Sue (Evans) Hall and 2 sons, Steven and wife Susan, Jeffrey and wife Rebecca, and 3 grandchildren, Michael, Nichole and Jacquelyn. www.mcgilleyantiochchapel.com.
