Christin was born Christin Kay Beeson in Kansas City, Missouri on August 28th, 1984. As a young girl Christin loved to dance, spending many years in dance class. In high school she played the clarinet in band and served in the color guard. She graduated from Raytown South High School in 2003. Christin earned her early education degree from Penn Valley in 2008. Christin married her high school love and best friend Roy Wallen on October 10th, 2009. Their first son, Isaiah, was born in 2010 and second, Elijah, in 2012. In 2013 Roy and Christin moved onto the campus of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary as Roy began his Undergraduate and Seminary training. In the Spring of 2017 Christin was awarded the Midwestern Women’s Institute (MWI) diploma as part of the first graduating class, walking with Roy who graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies.
Christin loved the Lord Jesus Christ deeply and her life demonstrated this fact. Although Christin suffered with many debilitating physical conditions, she always made the effort to put others first and to serve them. For Christin, when other people were happy, she was happy. This was nowhere more evident than the way she loved her husband Roy and their two boys, Isaiah and Elijah. Christin’s desire in life was to serve Jesus by doing what she loved—being an exceptional wife and stay at home mom. Whether it was homeschooling the boys, organizing the house, or cooking meals, baking, or planning birthday parties for Isaiah and Elijah, Christin was truly in her element when serving her family in the home. Christin would often say that Roy and the boys were her entire world.
Christin loved spending time with her family, including yearly trips to Branson while staying at the White River Lodge and visiting to the Kansas City Zoo. Christin also enjoyed doing arts and crafts with her boys and with the homeschool coop and one of her favorite stores was Hobby Lobby. Fall was Christin’s favorite time of year and Christmas was her favorite holiday. She especially enjoyed decorating for Christmas—the Christmas tree went up in October when the Hallmark Christmas movie watching began. Christin’s favorite animals were penguins, and she had many penguin collectables and was in the process of creating a penguin village for Christmas. Christin enjoyed reading and was particularly fascinated with the history of the Titanic and World War I & II. She also enjoyed fiction, one of her favorite authors being Karen Kingsbury.
Above all, Christin’s life was filled with joy because she knew the joy of the Lord, and it was that joy that she spread to all those who were blessed enough to know her. Christin truly reflected Christ as she was a selfless, loving, caring, sweet, happy, and joyful wife, mother, and person. Her prayer was Proverbs 31:11-12 and God answered her prayer as she truly was the exceptional wife she desired so much to be. Her life was truly a life that revealed and reflected her faith in Jesus Christ.
