Wayne worked as a cabinet maker most of his life. But as most of us know he was always busy doing something…working on cars, changing tires, racing cars (bet some of you didn’t know that), riding motorcycles, building and painting model cars, drinking beer, and flirting with the ladies—he was quite the ladies man.
Wayne helped anyone that needed help. He always had beer in his refrigerator and he always made you feel welcomed in his garage…which is where you’d normally find him when he was home. And he was ornery! He liked to play around and pinch you… and he could crack you good with his nub. He would tell his grandkids and great grandkids to say cuss words because he thought it was funny.
Wayne loved his family more than anything. His kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were his world. He was, and always will be, so very proud of them. He is survived by his kids Rodney Saunders and Christie Saunders Eiken, his 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Delwin Saunders and Charlie Saunders. He joins his father Hobart Saunders, mother Mary Ellen Saunders, sisters Carol Saunders Schmidt and Kathy Saunders Hemerson.
Funeral visitation (10:00 a.m-11:00 a.m) and services (11:00 a.m) will be held at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home at 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City, MO 64133, on Tuesday January 4, 2022. Burial services will follow at Brooking Cemetery at 10004 E 53rd St, Raytown, MO 64133
