He spent his working life in Kansas City working for KC Loose Leaf and Time Warner Cable until his retirement where he moved to Pleasant Hill and started crushing cans and saving tabs for Children’s Mercy Hospital. He was also a good standing member of over 50 years at the Temple gate Masonic Lodge #299 located in Kansas City, Missouri.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents Henery and Edith Wyrick, his late wife of over 60 years, Irene M. Wyrick and his daughter Raeona Jean Wyrick.
He leaves behind his only son; Christopher S. Wyrick, 2 grandsons, 2 granddaughters; Amy, David, Elizabeth, and Kevin, 5 great grandsons, and 4 great granddaughters. As well as beloved family friend Torie Wilmoth and Mary Payne his caregiver of 15 years.
A visitation for Ernie will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday March 28, 2024 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. A service will follow at 2:00 PM on Thursday March 28, 2024 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64133. Concluding with a graveside at 3:00 PM on Thursday March 28, 2024 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64133.
