

Davon was the oldest of eight of the home. He loved being a big brother to his siblings. He attended Winnetonka High School where he was a star basketball player for the Warhawks. Davon also played for the Keys AAU and MO-KAN basketball teams. Everyone knew his passion was basketball. Davon loved fashion and was always known to inspire others. His greatest joy was being a father to his two beautiful children. He also enjoyed watching his favorite basketball team the Cleveland Cavaliers. Davon was a light of his mom’s life and he always knew how to make her smile.
Davon was only with us for 20 precious years, but now he is in the arms of the Lord. He will be forever loved and deeply missed. Davon departed his life, into eternal life, on January 3, 2017.
He is preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Eliseo and Pauline Rivera, maternal grandfather, Dave Rivera Sr., and maternal aunt Telisha Rivera.
He leaves to cherish his special memory, his two beautiful children, Jazmine Rivera and Karter Hicks of Kansas City, MO, his parents, Davena Rivera and Josiah Wright of Kansas City, MO, his ten siblings, Gerrad Rivera, Damiya Rivera, Gerlyssa Rivera, Gerald Rivera, Rhamonda Rivera, Deshaun Rivera, Rahkeem Finley, Josiah Wright, Joquan Wright, Jonay Wright, all of Kansas City, MO, his two grandmothers Louise Rivera of Kansas City, MO, Tammie Rivera of Lee’s Summit, MO, his grandparents, Marvin and Thurma Wright of Kansas City, MO, five uncles, Michael Milam, Dave Rivera (Valerie), Eric Rivera, Joel Wright, of Kansas City, MO, Shauvez Rivera of Lee’s Summit, MO, four aunts, Patrice Emery-Carter (James), Carmen Alexander, Ebony Rivera, Tarshish Wright, all of Kansas City, MO, plus a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
