

Debbie was born on April 12, 1954 in Kansas City and grew up in Liberty, Missouri with her siblings, grandparents, and horses. She attended Liberty schools and graduated from All Saints Episcopal school in Vicksburg, MS. She then continued her education at University of Southern Mississippi. She received National Certificate with Honors for Operating Room Technicians.
Debbie had many interests including welding, working with her hands and lived in the Gulf Coast area of Mississippi. Her loves included photography, animals and working with the Catholic missions at the Immacolata Manor in Liberty, Missouri where she made many lifelong relationships with the patients and staff. She was also extremely proud working with the Mercedarian Sisters in Micronesia in the late 1980’s developing many strong friendships.
Later in her life she enjoyed working with students that had special needs as a school bus driver for North Kansas City and Park Hill School Districts. She had many animals growing up also loved being there for her friends and family. Her faith had helped her all during her life and while her health was declining. She passed on December 31, 2021 at North Kansas City Hospital.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Betty L. Bruening, Charles A. Bruening Sr, siblings Charles A. Bruening Jr. and Gretchen Bruening Lynch. Survived by siblings Dwight J. Bruening, Stephen A. Bruening, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10AM, followed by 10:30 AM Mass, at Our Lady of Sorrows in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Our Lady of Sorrows , Kansas City.
